The job content depends on which area you are assigned or you have chosen. There are many policies where the European Commission works: Agriculture, fisheries and food, economy and finance, culture and education, employment and social rights, science and technology and many more.
A traineeship at the European Commission is much more than just a professional experience. There is a Stage Committee which organizes different social events and activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- The university graduates with minimum of 3 years of study or equivalent degree.
- The knowledge at least of one of 3 official languages to work in European institutions: English, French or German.
- Another official national language knowledge, if you are not native to the abovementioned languages.
They mainly expect from us a proactive attitude, looking forward to contribute and to learn.

They have 2 recruitment periods, one starts on 1st March and the other on 1st October.
- Around 1300 places available every year.
- 5 months traineeship in European Commission.

SELECTION PROCCESS
The selection process has 3 main steps:
1. APPLICATION.
Fulfil formal requirements, presenting the documentation to support it.
2. PRE-SELECTION
Basis of academic profile, language skills and additional qualities. We could recommend to know who is the commissioner which we would like to work with, and write to him/her a personal presentation letter. We will have to show real interest in get the job.
3. RECRUITMENT
Selection of candidates depending of their needs.

Mainly, we can find 5 kind of traineeships in The European Parliament, a general option, journalism traineeship, translation traineeship or complementing studies.
